I hate it when the Bond girl is someone obscure and slightly insignificant. Granted,
Casino Royale introduced America to the beautiful and talented
Eva Green, who went on to appear in
The Golden Compass and will be starring alongside
Ryan Philippe in the romance thriller
Franklyn next year. But it's hard to get excited about the film if the girl seems like a dud at first. Perhaps I should cut
Gemma Arterton some slack. After all, she is fairly attractive...and
Guy Ritchie did cast her in his next action film,
RocknRolla (out next Fall), alongside
Gerard Butler and
Jeremy Piven...and she will be starring in a Jane Austen-themed UK series called "
Lost in Austen." Maybe I should watch the trailer first before I completely write her off. The film will be titled simply
007 and filming won't start until next year.
