CAST WHO?: Ferrell as an imaginary friend?

David R. Goodman (“South Park”) wrote a story called Imaginary Larry about a 12-year-old kid who accidentally banishes his 30-year-old imaginary friend, Larry, to Imaginary World after he kisses a girl for the first time. But Larry isn’t content to be in this fantastical land without his bff, so he tries to make himself real and get revenge on the hussie who stole his pal. It's sort of a twist on that 90s comedy Drop Dead Fred where a girl's imaginary friend returns when she feels her world crashing because of her womanizing husband and manipulative mother. This movie sounds like it was made for Will Ferrell, but it could easily be destroyed if headlined by someone like Sean William Scott, Vince Vaughn, or Ashton Kutcher. But I, at the same time, wish for a fresh face. Got any suggestions? Remember, he has to at least look 30.
