STREET KINGS (crime thriller)

Plot: A recently widowed detective has to clear his name when he's framed for a crime he didn't commit, fighting off his fellow cops and the streets.

Cast: Ellen Page, Sarah Jessica Parker, Dennis Quaid, and Thomas Haden Church (Sideways).
Plot: "When Dr. Janet Hartigan (Sarah Jessica Parker) agrees to look after her injured former professor (Quaid), little does she know she will soon have to contend with his clumsy affections, the attitude of his Young Republican daughter (Ellen Page), and the sudden arrival of Lawrence's good-for-nothing adopted brother (Church)."
Selling Point: Page plays uptight and Church brings the funny.

Your other options are basically three indies and horror flick. There's the heartwarming illegal immigrant story The Visitor, the geriatric musical documentary Young @ Heart, the spastic philosophical dark comedy Chaos Theory, and teen bloodfest Prom Night.
