MUSIC: New Artist Duffy's "Mercy"

Everyone keeps comparing this young Welsh singer to Amy Winehouse--because of her voice not her coke addiction--but I just think it's remarkable that that voice is coming out of that petite body. Her first album, Rockferry, was released in the UK in March and described as a soulful blues album. Selling 60,000 on its first day, Duffy had one of the fastest selling debuts in history. Her second single, "Mercy," which originally debuted last December, is actually a rocked out, up-beat sampling of River Phoenix's "Stand by Me." Listen:

The title track, "Rockferry," is a little dry, but her latest single, "Warwick Avenue," starts off sounding like The Temptations' "My Girl," and is sung beautifully.
