FILM: Cut from "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince"

Professor Trelawney (above) will not be in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this November when the film hits theaters. Whereas that might not be a big deal since there are so many characters in the film, she does actually play an important part in the book...if you guys remember (I had to wikipedia-it).

Professor Trelawney was the one who told Harry that Snape gave Voldemort the prophecy that drove him to murdering his parents, making Harry distrust Snape even further. Remember it's important that Snape and Harry have this hatred for one another, so that the end--when Snape performs his self-less act--is that much more tremendous.

Does it matter that they cut the character?
