FILM: The Return of "My Girl"

27-year-old Anna Chlumsky of My Girl fame returns to the mainstream in the rom-com The Good Guy. While I'd love to say that she's the female lead, she actually plays second banana to Alexis Bledel ("Gilmore Girls").

The film is about a Wall Street salesman (Scott Porter, Jason on "Friday Night Lights"), who gets his life screwed over by a new co-worker (Bryan Greenberg from "October Road") he has to mentor. Bledel plays his new girlfriend who is about to be stolen away. Chlumsky is her best friend, Andrew McCarthy ("Lipstick Jungle") is his annoying boss, and Aaron Yoo (Disturbia) plays his crass co-worker.

If the film is any good, this could be a stepping stone for all of them--Porter, Bledel, and Yoo who are just starting out, Greenberg who is still waiting on his big break, and McCarthy and Chlumsky who have to get back into the swing of things. You can also see her in the upcoming politically hilarious British indie, In the Loop, with James Gandolfini and Steve Coogan (Hamlet 2).

Sighting: She was on ABC's "Cupid" (4/28) for like 60 seconds playing a receptionist. So random.
