Round-Up: Series Cancellations, "Office" Character Cut, "SNL" Actress Replaced, & "Harry Potter" Professor Out

• In the wake of SNL's triumph in this political season, FOX has cancelled "Mad TV," its main competitor for the last 14 seasons.
• Due to ratings as low as 1-2 million viewers, NBC has cancelled "Lipstick Jungle" and "My Own Worst Enemy." I was praying that they'd show at least one more "Lipstick" episode, so I could see Joe propose to Victory. There's no word on whether they'll continue to air the 6 other episodes that they've already shot or the last 5 episodes that have been shot of "Enemy." If they were smart, they would film one more episode and sort of wrap up Hedward's storyline, making it a miniseries that's fully watchable on DVD.
• FOX is trying to decide whether they should air the final six episodes of "Prison Break," along with the two extra they just ordered that are rumored to wrap the series up, or if they should only air the two they just ordered as a made-for-TV film that'll end the series, or if they should just lump everything onto a DVD and pull it off the air immediately.
B.J. Novak, who plays Ryan on "The Office," volunteered to leave the series for a while so he can appear in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards.
Michaela Watkins, who appeared on "The New Adventures of Old Christine" as Matthew's patient/girl friend, has been tapped to join "SNL," since Amy Poehler decided not to return once her baby was born. Just in case it's unclear, she's not choosing to be a stay-at-home mom (not that there's anything wrong with that); Poehler has been cast in her own NBC series that's rumored to be an "Office" spin-off.
Emma Thompson, who plays the nutty Professor Trelawney in Harry Potter, won't be reprising her role. She's decided to write a sequel to 2006's family fantasy film Nanny McPhee, which made $123 mil worldwide. Trelawney isn't exactly a vital role in the upcoming films, but she does save Lavender Brown's life in the 7th book during the battle against the evil wizards and the Death Eaters, so if they plan on acknowledging that, they will have to replace her. Any suggestions?
