They need to hold a casting call for every available Native American-looking person in the world, so that I can stop seeing news briefs that say things like "Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) will be playing Leah Clearwater in the Twilight sequel." Really? The badass, tough-as-nails, super pissed off werewolf who ends up in Jacob's mini-pack in the end of the series? Really? I can think of four brown girls off the top of my head who would be better:
Jessica Szohr (Vanessa on The CW's "Gossip Girl")
Daniella Alonso (Carlotta on NBC's "Friday Night Lights")
Genevieve Cortese (Kris on ABC Family's "Wildfire")
Natalie Morales (Wendy on ABC Family's "The Middleman").
Bam! Four perfectly good actresses primed and ready to go. And, on a side note, check out a modest, but ripped, Taylor Lautner below:
Update: Either the producers caught wind of fans hating the idea of Hudgens permeating the franchise or it was all a lie. Leah's not even in the second book, so there's no rush in casting her just yet. But hopefully Perez isn't correct when he says that the character has been removed from the film version completely. How is Jacob going to have a pack if he only has one other wolf by his side? I'm totally not a fan of character deletions--as in Dobby from Harry Potter, not Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars.
EWWWWWWWW
ReplyDeleteif they really think Vanessa Hudgens will make a good Leah Clearwater they should really just stop trying. Like their casting is really weird now especially all those Jacob's they were thinking of casting
