TRAILERS: I Love You Beth Cooper, Gigantic, and more

GIGANTIC
It's an off-beat romantic dramedy about a matress salesman (Paul Dano from There Will Be Blood) who falls in love with a customer (Zooey Deschanel from Yes Man) while on the fast-track to adopting a Chinese baby. I don't know what it is, but casting directors just love to peg her as the object of men's affections, like she'll play in the upcoming 500 Days of Summer. However, I think it's refreshing that she doesn't have double D's, blonde hair, and half a brain.
RELEASE DATE: April 3

THE TAKING OF PELHAM 123
John Travolta plays a tattoo-having, handle-bar-mustache-wearing criminal who takes an entire train hostage, while Denzel Washington plays an MTA worker who controls how the trains work. He becomes the psuedo hostage negotiator whose job it is to keep the criminal calm and the hostages alive.
RELEASE DATE: June 12

TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN
Um, sick action scenes and amazing graphics. Michael Bay has really out-done himself.
RELEASE DATE: June 24th

I LOVE YOU, BETH COOPER
I want to first say that films like this don't make triple digit millions, but it totally should get cult classic status. I mean this complete nobody, Paul Rust (Semi-Pro), just rolls into Hollywood to star opposite Hayden Panettiere ("Heroes")--every young (and old) man's wet dream--in a film about a teenager who is so obessed with the hot popular girl that he has the audacity to declare his undying love for her during his valedictorian speech. And since she's apparently a wild child, she decides to secretly prove that he doesn't love the real her--as opposed to the fictionalized version that everyone worships--by taking him out on the wildest night of his life. Rust has a gift for slapstick and I could not contain myself while watching this trailer. While I don't think it'll be as great of an adaptation as Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, I do think it'll make plenty of teenagers laugh.
RELEASE DATE: July 10

  1. Zooey Deschanel is getting the best quirky roles. It's just excellence. And I can't wait to see this one!

    Thanks for the trailers.
