ON-THE-RISE: Chris and Liam Hemsworth

When I was watching Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan this weekend, I noticed a new actor who was barely mentioned during the entire publicity of the film. Chris Hemsworth played Captain Kirk's dad for about 5-10 minutes before sacrificing himself for the entire Enterprise crew. Now, the 25-year-old Australian scored the lead in the film Thor, an epic tale about the god of thunder, which also stars Samuel L. Jackson, and a role in the Red Dawn remake.


Plus his brother Liam (Knowing), just signed on to play Miley Cyrus' love interest in the adaptation of the book The Last Song that Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook) wrote for her. He'll play--and I quote--an "awesome beach volleyball player with Ivy League dreams," while Cyrus tackles the role of a girl who has to face the father who abandoned her in what will seem like the longest summer of her life. It seems like Hollywood is opening a lot of doors for these brothers.
