I wasn't too excited about the return of either of these divas. In the wake of Lady Gaga's sudden success, they're both grasping at straws to compete with her.
Beyonce offered up the defiant and yet desperate plea for affection "Why Don't You Love Me," complete with a kitschy intro and interlude. My favorite part is when she ends the song with the surprise declaration that he's "dumb":
Meanwhile, Christina Aguilera decided that the theme of her upcoming album Bionic would be futuristic provacateur. So for the video "Not Myself Tonight" she started gyrating in barely there S&M pieces, and thought she'd push "the envelope." It's more like she sealed her hasbeen status.
Which do you prefer? Do I have it all wrong? Is Aguilera's new video better?
I totally agree with you on Aguilera, she was never original, and she really blew it.
