TRAILER: Alex Pettyfer's "I Am Number Four"

PLOT: John (Pettyfer) is an extraordinary teen, masking his true identity and passing as a typical high school student to elude a deadly enemy seeking to destroy him. Three like him have already been killed ... he is Number Four.

CAST: Alex Pettyfer, Timothy Olyphant (Hitman and Live Free or Die Hard), Dianna Aragon ("Glee"), Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), Kevin Durand ("Lost" and Wolverine)

VERDICT: I haven't read the books yet, but after seeing this trailer, I just might. The film has two things going for it. The first is that Disturbia's DJ Caruso is directing and the second is that it has trilogy potential. The main strike against it, though, is that this isn't Pettyfer's first lead role, having starred in the teen action film Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker and the much-delayed dark romance Beastly. But hopefully, with the support of the novel's fans, he'll finally get his due. I'm also excited to see a new addition to the female heroine category, and hope that the former damsel-in-distress Palmer is as badass throughout the film as she is in the trailer.

Release Date: February 18
