"Murder" by Ashlee Simpson feat. Travis McCoy, produced by Timbaland
The unofficial definition of a sell out is a person who will sell themselves, their souls, and their talents for a dime. Timbaland used to be a hip hop making machine, but then he got a wiff of the Pop paper and realized he could get more money spinning beats for Justin Timberlake than Busta Rhymes. Fans were okay with that because the beats were sick and JT is a talented artist. But then Timbaland mixed beats for Ashlee Simpson in her new single "Murder" featuring Travis from Gym Class Heroes. Now, Travis I understand. Your mentors Fall Out Boy have a member (Pete Wentz) who's screwing Ashlee and therefore that obligates you to collaborate with her if you want to get ahead. You haven't fully sold out, but you're getting there. What's Timbaland's excuse? This song sounds like Nelly Furtado rejected it and its lyrics are so incoherent and pathetic that I wonder what crap Ashlee's been working on during her love hiatus. Maybe your last album wasn't Grammy-worthy, but this isn't even VMA-worthy. The Teen Choice Awards won't even nominate this crap.
