FILM: Box Office Results - 12/3/07

Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey have enchanted viewers for the second week in a row, grossing $70 mil and proving that it's a family favorite. As for the new releases, Awake was put to sleep by the critics and permanently sedated by its $6 mil gross. This Christmas is still holding strong at #2 with $37 mil. And Beowulf is anchored at #3 with $68 mil. Hitman managed to scrape up $30 mil at #5 and The Mist should be out of the top 10 next week, since it dropped to #10 with $19 mil.

Next week, Enchanted might get booted out of the top spot if kids get entranced by The Golden Compass, romantics will be seduced by Keira Knightley and James McAvoy's Atonement, the drama The Walker, a would-be indie sequel to American Gigolo helmed by Woody Harrleson, will probably go unnoticed, John Cusack's Iraq-inspired indie Grace is Gone will pull on the heartstrings, and Guy Ritchie's 2005 indie Revolver will finally get some screens.
