VIDEO: Gym Class Heroes' Travis + Pete Wentz + Lil Wayne
This video is for the 18-year-old rapper Tyga's debut single "Coconut Juice," which plays off the Harry Nilsson song "Coconut" with the lyrics "Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both up." Knowing that fact and hearing him say it in the first couple seconds of the video made me want to turn it off. The only reason I gave it a shot was because Travis from Gym Class Heroes was in the prelude acting like his big brother--he's actually his cousin. But, instead of Pete Wentz signing Tyga like he did Gym Class Heroes and Panic at the Disco, he did a joint-signing with Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment label. All of that explains why all three of these gentlemen cameo in Tyga's video. The song has a reggae undercurrent that's pretty hot. The best parts, however, are when Pete complains about the loud music saying, "Listen. This is Encino not Compton," and when Travis raps, "Break down, like Britney"--that's just cold.
