It's not common for people to watch French action movies, but after seeing the action sequences in the trailer for District B13 in 2004, I had to catch it in theaters. I was not disappointed. Their use of parkour was remarkably impressive and reminiscent of Jackie Chan's monkey-like movements and Jason Statham's combat techniques. Before then, films hadn't really used parkour--or acknowledged it as such--even though it was becoming increasingly popular all over the world. Just youtube it. You'll see.
In fact, since the movie's release, the only other times I've seen it were in the opening action sequence of Casino Royale and in Live Free or Die Hard. The last of which was done by the same guy who did it in District B-13, Cyril Raffaelli. Reports say that it's also featured in The Incredible Hulk. Needless to say, I was pretty excited when I heard that they've greenlit a sequel called District B14.
Netflix it.
