Is it me or do directors tend to make Penelope Cruz the object of their character's obession a lot? I've seen The Good Night where Martin Freeman's character spends a majority of his time fantasizing about her and I've heard she was practically stalked by Tom Cruise's character in Vanilla Sky, and now she's in this Spaniard adaptation of Philip Roth's novel Elegy where an eternal bachelor, played by Ben Kingsley, turns over a new leaf once he meets her. I get that she's attractive, but so are a lot of women in Hollywood. Why obsess over her? Check out how Kingsley's character becomes enamored in this tumultuous drama:
