Matthew Perry may have had crappy luck with NBC's "Studio 60," but he isn't friendless just yet. Partnering up with screenwriter Peter Tolan ("Rescue Me" and Analyze That) he's cooked up an idea for a half-hour Showtime series called "The End of Steve."
Perry will play a loveable talk show host who has a completely different personality offscreen. It would be like if Ellen Degeneres was more like Daria or Janeane Garofalo when the cameras stopped rolling. Producers are boasting that you'll get to see Perry in a darker light than we're used to as his character will try to balance his work life and his love life.
