TV: Sarah Jessica Parker's new Series

Looks like Sarah Jessica Parker isn't going to take her chances on a film career just because of the success of Sex and the City: The Movie. No, she's taking advantage of everyone's sudden recollection that she used to be the Queen of B of cable by snagging her own series.

Karen Quinn's novel, The Ivy Chronicles, is being adapted for television. It's the story of Ivy Ames, an Upper East Sider who's been recently fired and is getting a divorce. Due to her sudden lack of income, she has to move downtown and withdraw her kids from private school. But since she's resourceful, she creates a business that helps UES mothers get their kids into elite kindergarten schools. Some papers are comparing it to The Devil Wears Prada, The Nanny Diaries, and "The Starter Wife." The concept really reminds me of a mix between "Gossip Girl" and that new series "Surviving the Filthy Rich," except with adults.

Will you watch?
