FILM: "The Monster Squad" Remake

The Monster Squad is a teen horror comedy from 1987 where a bunch of boys, who are monster fanatics, form a crew to stop Dracula before he teams up with The Mummy, The Wolfman, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and Frankenstein and takes over the world with a magic amulet.

Believe it or not, the guy who wrote this movie, Shane Black, also wrote all four Lethal Weapon movies, The Last Action Hero, and Robert Downey Jr.'s hilarious Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Rob Cohen (The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor) loved it so much that he wants to produce a remake. Watch the trailer to jog your memory of how awesome it was (lol):



Why can't teen movies today be this creative and not always be about some predictably lame love story?
