The producers of "The Office" spinoff are looking for a name-actor to helm the series much like Steve Carrell leads the original. Amy Poehler has made quite the name for herself over at "SNL" and has been successful in theaters with Baby Mama. She is said to be in negotiations star.
So far, the only guaranteed employee of the spinoff is comedian Aziz Ansari (above) from MTV's "Human Giant." If Poehler accepts the gig, she'll have to quit "SNL" and start shooting immediately after she gives birth in the Fall, since the series is scheduled to air after the Super Bowl in early February. Fingers crossed.
Update: Apparently, the spinoff idea was completely scrapped, but Poehler is still getting her own series on NBC. No word on whether Ansari is still attached.
