The creators of "October Road" were tapped to take over the 70s set police procedural "Life on Mars" after it received negative reviews from critics and viewers. One of the changes that they've made so far is to add an actor from their previous series.
Jonathan Murphy, who played Ronnie, the lead character's little brother, will play a jittery young detective who needs to be shown the ropes. Murphy would've had a larger arc on "October Road" if the series had returned for another season, since he had declared his love for his brother's girlfriend in the last episodes that aired. Those few scenes must've done the trick to convince the creators to give him a second shot. Let's hope he'll count as an incentive to get viewers interested again.
