FILM: Jennifer Lopez returns with "Governess" and "Impossible Pursuits"

Jennifer Lopez returns to the big screen after having her twins and a little mommy-hiatus.

The first film she'll shoot is an adaptation of Ayelet Waldman's novel Love and Other Impossible Pursuits, where she'll play a high-powered lawyer who falls for one of her firm's partners (Jeffrey Dean Morgan from P.S. I Love You). After she gets pregnant, he gets a divorce and marries her. And while that may seem like the end of a story, that's where hers begins. Her new hubby already had a five-year-old son--one that is none too excited to meet his new step-mommy--and chaos ensues. Lisa Kudrow also stars and Don Roos (Happy Endings and Boys on the Side) co-writes and directs. It'll be in theaters next June.

The latest project she's signed onto is the action rom-com The Governess, where she plays a professional thief who poses as the nanny for three mischievous kids and a wealthy widower, in order to pull off a major bank heist. Naturally, she has to choose between loving this family and pulling off the biggest score of her career. She reteams with screenwriter Kevin Wade (Maid in Manhattan), who will adapt Wendy Braff's story. It'll hit theaters in December 2009.
