Now, I've never been as devoted to former "Moonlight" star Alex O'Loughlin as some ladies are, but I might be persuaded to pay a little closer attention to his career after seeing this incarnation of him:
Apparently, he was dressed as a serial killer with OCD for a guest spot on CBS's "Criminal Minds," which aired this week. He's laying the groundwork for non-fans to take him seriously as a character actor, since he scored a role as a cardiothoracic surgeon in CBS's potential Fall pilot "Three Rivers." The series plot follows the perspective of an organ recipient, the donor, and the surgical team. His character isn't exactly Prince Charming. While it's true that he saves lives, his romantic situation is more like a tragedy than a fairytale. He lives in a hotel that's attached to the hospital, since he's separated from his wife. But, in spite of this rejection, Alex describes his character as a "cheeky," "lovable scallywag."
He also has the comic adaptation Whiteout this September, where he plays the villain, which he described as "a rogue-ish, rugged, Australian pilot who's a bit of a smartass." I'm looking forward to seeing the many sides to Alex, especially if they look this hot:
Update: I just saw the episode. It was pretty damn good!
