Plot: A drama centered on three people—a psychic (Damon), a French journalist (de France) and a London school boy (McLaren)—who are touched by death in different ways.
Cast: Matt Damon, Cecile de France (Around the World in 80 Days), twins Frankie & George McLaren, Bryce Dallas Howard (Eclipse), Jenifer Lewis (What's Love Got to Do With It?), Jay Mohr ("Gary Unmarried")
Verdict: The teasers were really vague, but once I got to see the full premise, I realized two things: 1) This is going to be a relentless tearjerker and 2) there's no way I can see this in theaters without drenching my sleeves in tears. With just a quick overview of all the subplots, I can tell that the storyline of the little boy whose twin died is going to kill me. I don't have a twin, but I know what it feels like to treat your sibling like your other half and the emptiness that's left behind when they're gone. Clint Eastwood is going to hit a strong chord with viewers, touching on every type of loss on a grand (tsunami) and small (car accident) scale. This could get him an Oscar nom.
