FILM: Harry Potter Cuts

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
comes out in theaters in July. If you read the book, you know that if translated word for word it would probably be 4 hours long. The problem with Potter adaptations is that they always cut out plot points and you never know if it'll be one of your favorite tidbits. I kind of hated Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, because they removed the part where you got to see Harry's father as a young boy and the reasoning behind Snape's hatred. So I thought you might want to know a couple of story lines that were axed:

"...all that stuff about Ron Weasley becoming a Quidditch king? Cut. Mrs. Weasley's pestilent boggart? Nixed. Dobby the house elf? Poof--gone. Young wizard Neville Longbottom's poor, mad parents in St. Mungo's hospital? Snipped."--Entertainment Weekly, April 6, 2007

I don't really remember, but I think Longbottom's parents are integral to the whole he-might-be-the-chosen-one-instead-of-Harry theory. So, if it is, that would be an unforunate cut. The rest doesn't seem that crucial.

What do you think?
