Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller have been planning to put the The Hardy Boys detective novels on screen as an updated adult comedy called The Hardy Men. It's slated for a 2009 release, Brit Simon Kinberg (Jumper and Mr. & Mrs. Smith) is writing, and Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) is directing.
While all of that sounds legit and possibly entertaining--Cruise doing intentional comedy should be a nice change of pace--it confuses me as to why Victoria Beckham has been tapped to play a small part and to design the film's costumes. Nepotism at its worst.
