TV: "Reaper" Renewed & "Back to You" Canceled

Fans of "Reaper" must be ecstatic that the show has been renewed for a second season despite low ratings. Since they were on the bubble, most of the cast took precautions and signed up for other projects. Bret Harrison (Sam) will start shooting the comedy Mardi Gras soon. Tyler Labine (Sock) just wrapped the dramedy Control Alt Delete that was written by his brother Cameron. And Rick Gonzalez (Ben) is on the verge of helming the play adaptation Four with Shareeka Epps (Half Nelson). However, it looks like the boys can rest easy. They've got a gig for at least another year. Hopefully the writers will explore the contract, the devil's daughter, the possibility of Sam being the Devil's son, and the addition of Andi as a third sidekick to spice things up.

"Back to You," Kelsey Grammer's third TV series effort after the oh-so-successful "Cheers" and "Frasier," has been canceled. Despite an attempt to introduce a new character played by Suzy Nakamura (Evan Almighty) and the switcheroo done with the main characters' love child, the show couldn't afford the high price tags of its costars. FOX has a bad track record with comedies and should probably just stick to dramedies, reality shows, and cartoons.

  1. My wife and I seldom watch newer shows. Back to You was one of two shows (the other is Big Bang Theory) we watched this year. How sad that it is cancelled. What About Jim comes back year after year but this show is cancelled?? What if Frasier was cancelled after one season?? I hope another network picks this show up.
