FILM: AMC remakes "The Prisoner" series

AMC lucked out this year with the critic-approved drama "Mad Men," and they plan on continuing their foray into original content by, ironically, remaking a British 60s sci-fi thriller called "The Prisoner."

Jim Caviezel (The Passion of The Christ) and Ian McKellen (X-Men) have been tapped to star in the
six-part mini-series that is being referred to as a reinterpretation. In the series, a retired secret agent is abducted and imprisoned during the Cold War in what looks like a village. His captors relentlessly interrogate him in order to discover why he resigned and will do anything, including brainwash him, to get the answer out. Due to our present political situation, the show will be quite topical. Caviezel will play the lead as "Number Six," and McKellen will play "Number Two."
