You may know Anna Kendrick from her role in the dramedic indie Rocket Science or her latest part in the teen blockbuster Twilight as the lead character's one-woman welcoming committee to a high school in Nowheresville, USA, where the hottest boys are supernatural.
However, Kendrick must be gunning for that 2009 Breakout Star title, because she has a lot of highbrow roles in the coming new year. Despite her short resume, she somehow scored a part in Ben Stiller and Jason Schwartzman's upcoming comedy The Marc Pease Experience, the lead in the crime thriller Elsewhere, and a spot opposite George Clooney in Jason Reitman's (Juno) next comedic adaptation of Walter Kim's Up in the Air. Reitman passed over Emily Blunt (Devil Wears Prada) and even his Osar-nominated golden child Ellen Page to cast Kendrick.
Maybe he and the rest of Hollywood are sniffing out new blood or maybe they're considering how much cheaper she would be, but it seems more likely that she has something we'll all be talking about real soon.
