FILM: Sequel News

It turns out the underwhelming Gemma Arterton won't be the main Bond girl in the next sequel in the saga, Bond 22. Producers are searching for a gorgeous South American to fill that slot. As for the sequel's villain, that position is rumored to be taken by the French actor Mathieu Amalric, who starred in this winter's beloved indie The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.

On the comic front, Rendition director Gavin Hood is in the middle of casting the prequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and reportedly has former pop singer Natalie Imbruglia auditioning for an unknown role. Danny McBride continues his Underworld saga sans its director Len Wiseman (Live Free Die Hard) in a prequel called Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans to tell the tale of the werewolves who were the vampires' slaves.

I think of all three I'm most excited to learn the identity of the newest Bond girl. I mean, it wouldn't be a James Bond film unless the leading lady was worth dying for.
